Short bio
I work as a Professor of Contemporary History at the University of València and am PI 2 of the project Gender and Francoist Nation: Transnational and Intersectional Perspectives (PID2022-141082NB-C22), funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. I also coordinate the Aula d’Història i Memòria Democràtica (Labor for History and Democratic Memory) at the UV. Between 2010 and 2015, I worked as a researcher and, subsequently, project co-head at the Cluster of Excellence “Religion and Politics” at the University of Münster (Germany), before obtaining a position as an Assistant Professor at the UV.
My International PhD (2014) focused on the relationships between the Falange Women’s Section and youth and women’s organizations in Nazi Germany. Currently, my research focuses on fascism in the 1930s and 1940s from a transnational and gender perspective, for example, in their cross-border cooperation or in the case of Brazil in the 1930s. But I am also interested in researching topics such as the struggle for the symbolic remains of the Franco dictatorship in Spain’s public space after 1979, antisemitism, and València, the capital of the Republic (1936-1937).
