Prof. Tabanera main lines of research focus on politics and cultural relations between Spain and the Americas, as well as nation and nationalism in contemporary America. Recently, she has been working on the identity discourses and projection of models of nation among the Spanish emigration to Latin America (especially to Argentina and Chile) in the periods of the Second Republic, the Civil War and the first decades of the Franco dictatorship; and, on the other hand, on the intellectual and political networks established between Spain and America.
