On 25 and 26 May 2026, a major academic conference entitled “Beyond the Home: 1st International Conference on the Falange Women’s Section” will take place at the University of Valencia (Faculty of Geography and History, Meeting Room). This conference has been organised by Toni Morant (UV) and Sofía Rodríguez López (UCM), as part of SP2 “Gender and Francoist Nation. Transnational and Intersectional Perspectives”.
It will consist of five sessions spread over two days, with the participation of members from both sub-projects, as well as experts from other universities. In total, the conference will bring together 12 specialists on the Women’s Section of the Falange, from 9 universities across 4 countries and 3 continents.

– 25 May:
11:00-11:15h. Presentation
11:15-12:30h. Opening session: presentations by Ángela Cenarro (UNIZAR) and Inbal Ofer (OUI). Moderated by Ismael Saz (UV).
• 12:45-14:30h. Second session, “Gender, culture and colonialism”: presentations by Begoña Barrera (US), Susana Bardavío (UBU) and Enrique Bengochea (UV). Moderated by Zira Box (UV).
• 17:00-18:45h. Third session, “Crossing borders: Europe”: presentations by Sofía Rodríguez (UCM), Jorge Conejos (UV) and Toni Morant (UV). Moderated by Julián Sanz (UV).
– 26 May:
• 10:00-11:15h. Fourth session, “Crossing borders: Latin America (I)”: presentations by Vanessa Tessada (UMCE) and Alejandra Ferreyra (UBA). Moderated by Oscar Martín (CSIC/UPV).
• 11:30-12:45h. Fifth sesion, “Crossing borders: Latin America (II)”: presentations by Lledó Magnieto (UV) and María José Leiva (UCM). Moderated by Borja Pérez (UV).
